Single sliding doors for two different openings - each shoji panel is 34-1/2" x 81-1/2" x 1-3/8. Built in Cherry wood with 1 mm Kinwashi Warlon and inlaid Ebony door pulls.

 

 

Shoji screens for the office to span 83-3/4" x 84-34", all shoji stack to one side to open. Also built in Cherry wood with 1 mm Kinwashi Warlon and inlaid Ebony door pulls.

Four shoji to span 157", only three pictured since we don't have enough display room in the shop for all of them.

Guest bath Shoji screens, both panels are hinged but the small panel has flush bolts installed, top and bottom, to fix it in place. Many detail images below in case our client needs them for reference. Window grids have been added below.

Beech Shoji to span a closet opening 83-3/4" x 76-1/2". Kumiko pattern #13 with Kinwashi Warlon insert material and Inlaid Japanese Cherry door pulls.

Sapele Shoji screens for a closet with one of our custom kumiko patterns and 0.3 mm Kinwashi Warlon laminated paper. Span is 120" x 81-1/2".

Blunt Kumiko ends are beveled for a nicer finish.

This photo shows one of the screens leaning up against white cardboard- it shows a truer color than the brown cardboard back drop.

Note the carefully beveled ends on the floating kumiko- one of our signature details.

This particular lot of Cherry had some lovely curl in the grain!

Eclectic Home

Custom shoji screens for a closet opening, span is 71-3/4" by 80". Shoji are build in Beech with Port Orford Cedar kumiko, 0.3 mm Kinwashi Warlon Paper and Ebony inlaid door pulls.

It's a pretty combination on these shoji.

Fraley & Co / Laux Installed

Pictures our client kindly sent of our shoji screens in his bathroom remodel. First shoji door needed a lock set and hinging so was built with stiles and rails heavy enough to accommodate both.

A built-out cabinet with our shoji to fit. All shoji built in Beech with Port Orford Cedar kumiko and Beech lower shoji panels. The sliding and fixed shoji have 0.3 mm Kinwashi Warlon paper as the inset material. The hinged shoji door needed added rigidity so we used 2.0 mm Amber Warlon Acrylic.
