Price
Custom Shoji screens built in Cherry with 0.3 mm White Warlon laminated paper and inlaid Ebony door pulls. The kumiko (grid) pattern is a ratio of 3:1 which is why there's so many horizontal elements. Many little sticks in this pattern.

New Warlon Shoji Papers
The new Warlon shoji papers we ordered are finally on our website.
We decided to try another 0.3 mm thick Warlon we're calling Golden Flax since that is what the long fibers encased in the paper look like.
There's a really pretty picture of it on the Warlon website - http://warlon.co.jp/en/products/product-features/ - we do need better images.
We also decided to add an acrylic that is a combination of the very translucent 2.0 mm White Warlon Acrylic and the Smooth White Acrylic we already carry. More opaque, so more light reflective, with a long silky 'paper fiber' look.. the best of both. We're calling it White Unryu since we have quite a few white acrylics now. Pictured below.

Five custom shoji screens which will be used on an upstairs half wall to provide interest and a bit of separation. These were built to match similar shoji screens we made for this client a few years ago. Built in Beech with beech kumiko and 2 mm white Warlon Acrylic shoji material.
Pictures below are a few from the previous jobs we've done for this client. A big Thank You to them and Juanitta for having the patience to wait for Ed to get back into the shop.

Coincidentally, the first two orders to be completed in the shop after Ed's sabbatical both had the same kumiko pattern. One order will have the shoji screens hanging in space as room dividers.. I'll include the picture our client sent. The other shoji screen is a window insert I believe.

Drat! Our camera's lens has dirt on the inside! With these new digital cameras... how does one get in to clean it? If you see shadows.. it's the camera not the shoji.
Oh, and here's that picture our client sent us... nice space there.

Autumn is moving in....
Ed's summer sabbatical is over and wood chips are flying once again in the shoji shop.
His to-do list this summer?
Travel and spend time with family.
Clean, repair or upgrade shop tools.
All done.
On the other hand, I've barely made a dent in my to-do list... still working on it.
