Beech shoji screens for a closet - span is 42" x 79" - with lower door panels for puppy proofing and opaque white Warlon since that appears brighter when used in a closet. Less gray than a more translucent Warlon

Wright Construction

Shoji screens built in Beech with 1 mm opaque white Warlon and milled inset door pulls. There are 17 shoji pictured which will install as closet doors and room dividers for a new home. Elvis stepped in for scale in the picture below, he is 6 ft tall.

Three of the six shoji screens to span a closet opening. Built in Beech with Opaque White 1mm Warlon. Instead of inlaid door pulls Ed cut recesses in the shoji door stiles.

Shoji span is 198-3/4" - each shoji is 34-1/2" x 92-3/8" x 1-3/8".

Veteze Bush

 

Two pocket door shoji screens made from Sapele, in our pattern 20, with a panel. Ebony pulls and opaque white Warlon paper. Size 30" x 80" x 1-3/8".

We hand pick all our wood. Every stick of it. And sometimes, there are a few pieces in the stack that are really exceptional though usually there is  not enough to fill out a whole order.  We buy it anyway- never can tell. On this job, there was just enough - the wood is an African "mahogany". These boards have a beautiful rippled grain that really catches the light, some parts look like water at a full boil, sort of bubbly. A more typical grain for Sapele is the ribbon stripe figure in the panels, pictured below. Really a lovely set of shoji.

  Closet shoji screens built in Beech with Opaque white Warlon. Too many to lay them all out like we usually do. Ed apparently misplaced Elvis so no way to see the scale of these.

The two widest closet shoji in the back are 53"in width if that helps.
The interior window shoji in front are 47-3/8" W by 36" H.

The interior window shoji and the two narrow pivot-hinge swing door shoji have white Warlon instead of the opaque white Warlon used in the closets.The denser opaque white warlon looks brighter for closets since it doesn't show shadow from the closet interior.

Each shoji 39-1/4" x 80-1/8" x 1-3/8". The shoji have Cherry lower door panels, 1mm Opaque Warlon and inlaid Ebony door pulls.

Shaffner Hogue

 

Custom shoji screens for two storage areas. Built in Beech with a modified K14 pattern, 1 mm Opaque White Warlon and inlaid Japanese Cherry door pulls. Shoji span is 86-3/4".

This is the only picture Ed took of the Zen Room shoji. Once you open the crate the shoji will be packaged in foam and cardboard like this.. only with a top. There are two packages with three Zen Room shoji to a package. 

He did not take any pictures of the Cherry MB shoji screen.
