Client install - she wanted the shoji to hide her creative kitchen. The shoji are built in Cherry with Chiri Warlon installed with surface mounted tracking.

Tokul

Maple shoji screens with Maple lower door panels and Chiri Warlon insert material.
The shoji are 35-3/8" x 95" x 1-3/8".
A centered book match on the panels, and a nicely proportionate Kumiko grid above. The panel height matches the adjacent countertop. The "Chiri" warlon is a rustic paper, with various inclusions of bark and straw.
Note the photo was taken with the left shoji having white cardboard behind, the right shoji has brown.  Chiri paper is good at concealing the darker background, and it is very effective at covering an un-lit space, like a closet or powder room, for this reason.

These are tall shoji, floor to ceiling, with a recessed ceiling track. Elvis for scale, he is 6' tall.

The book matched lower maple panels.

We spent some time developing fixtures to cut in these pulls super cleanly!

Shoji screens built in Cherry to span 94-1/2" x 83-1/2" with 1 mm Chiri Warlon and inlaid Japanese Cherry door pulls. Each shoji 24-5/8" x 80-1/8" x 1-3/8". By-part roller tracking install with floor guides.

Master closet shoji screens. Built in Beech with 1mm Chiri Warlon and a custom kumiko pattern. We didn't have room to lay all three shoji out for the picture. 

The two below are for the same closet different wall. 

 

 

 

There are two shoji screens for the TV cabinet, similar size to the master closet shoji but with 1mm Kinwashi Warlon instead of Chiri.

Shoji screen room divider, built in Cherry with 1 mm Chiri Warlon

Span is 114-1/2". Shoji are 39-1/2" x 81-1/2" x 1-3/8".

Glasgow

 

Sapele Shoji screens for an wall window opening, they will slide in 3 channel Sapele wood tracking. With 0.3 mm Chiri Warlon paper and Ebony inlaid door pulls.

 

Elvis is a bit tall for scale on this size shoji.

MW General Contracting

Window shoji - 24" x 33" - built out of some beautifully figured Cherry wood with Chiri Warlon paper. Will be installed with equally pretty wood tracking.
