Shoji built in Sapele, our Kpattern #21 in Sapele, 0.3 mm Golden Flax Warlon laminated paper, inlaid Ebony door pulls and Sapele lower door panels. I tried to get a picture of how pretty the paper / Sapele looked together but the camera didn't really show the colors very well.

A nice set of Beech shoji with Opaque White Warlon paper, Port Orford Cedar kumiko, Beech lower door panels and inlaid Japanese Cherry door pulls. A pocket door and a pair of sliding screens for a closet.

The closet pair of shoji.

This is an open kumiko (grid) screen, no paper, to go over a white glass wall -we took the picture on a piece of white cardboard.

These are tall shoji screens- just about 8 feet. Made with Beech, Port Orford Cedar and .45 white Warlon laminated paper.  A 2-1 ratio is carried throughout- each small rectangle is 2-1, and each group of four rectangles is a 2-1 ratio. Two groups of four form a square and there are three squares to fill the whole screen height. Confused yet?

Our standard tight inlay of Ebony door pulls.

Upper (left) and lower (right) wood tracks for three shoji screens. There is a small plastic glide we put on the bottom edge of the screens, to engage the thumbnail profile on the lower track- much easier to clean and a lot more friendly on bare feet than a square edge groove. The lower track is finished with a urethane floor finish.

Craig Wilkinson Inc

Custom shoji screens for a new home construction in Mississippi. The black satin stain is actually a dye with tinted lacquer over the top. Ed prefers this application as it allows some of the wood grain to show through - they don't have the painted plastic look. All 10 shoji screens in this order are close to 8' tall - pictured above is a set of 4 all 48" wide, only 3 are visible.

Above is the set of 3 shoji screens also for the dining room - 38" wide.

Above is the 2 shoji for the study and a pocket door for the kitchen.
